Welcoming the New Year

I watch the snow, melting
Rain pelting down on it,
Forcing it to change its state
Into a form that flows freely.

This year of hardened memories
Resists the press of time
Not wanting to slide a little further,
Leaving the present
To the new and unthought experience,
Yesterday flowing more freely
As the new year comes.

"the new and unthought experience" ... so true of life. Thank you for a New Year's poem.
